Airship's Flight Report – August 2026
August has been a big one here at Airship. A brand-new community partnership, a run of blogs on getting more from your guest data, fresh faces joining our Professionals community, and a whole stack of improvements shipping across the platform. Here is everything that happened this month at Airship.
58 Million and Counting
The back end of summer is one of the busiest stretches in hospitality, and our customers spent it getting everything they could from the platform. In a single month, 58,657,519 emails landed in guests' inboxes powered by Airship, sent on behalf of more than 385 hospitality brands up and down the country. Every one a direct line between an operator and the guests who keep them in business. None of that effort goes unrewarded. On the loyalty side, 25,192 rewards were redeemed, each one a guest walking back through the door, recognised for coming.
The Mega Marketing Masterclass
A big one for the diary. On the 9th of September we are gathering some of the biggest names in hospitality marketing in one room for a day built entirely around getting the most from your marketing in the run up to Black Friday and Christmas.
This is a chance to learn directly from the people shaping the industry. Speakers such as Jack Edge, Alan Armstrong and Andre Johnstone as well as presentations from HGEM, Fidelia, the Airship team. They will all be sharing practical, hard-won thinking you can take straight back to your business, from what is working right now to how to set yourself up for the busiest season of the year.
There are a handful of spaces left, so if you have not already, make sure you get registered. You can find all the details and save your place over on the blog:

Airship x Team Marketing
We were also thrilled to announce this month that Airship is now the Annual Partner of Team Marketing. Hospitality has always been about people, and Team Marketing brings together the people who market it, giving them a place to share ideas, learn from one another and build the connections that make the industry what it is.
For us, the partnership is about getting behind a cause we already believe in. Team Marketing has built the kind of community the industry has long needed, and our job as a partner is simply to help them do more of it, backing the events, the resources and the moments that let hospitality marketers connect and grow. We could not be more excited to be involved. You can read more about what the partnership means here: Airship x Team Marketing
Always Evolving
Behind the scenes, our development team has been working harder than ever, with one of the biggest runs of updates we have shipped in a single month. Here is some of what has landed.
For larger senders, we have introduced the ability to stagger broadcast sends, rolling a big send out in phases rather than all in one go. It is available to selected accounts to begin with, so get in touch with your account manager if you'd like to have this feature switched on.
Along with this, merged contacts now keep all of their location subscriptions, the contact uploader lets you delete drafts you no longer need, and we have sped up and steadied our Loyalty integration, tightening up scheduled background processing so things stay smooth during busy periods. On top of that, we’ve rolled out a batch of usability tweaks across the dashboard, including clearer labelling on the email and scheduling screens, all shaped by your feedback!
Three new reads on Ask Airship
Ask Airship turns the guest data you already hold into answers you can act on. This month we published three new reads, each one showing another side of what that data can do once you start asking the right questions.
First, the questions worth asking. Your data holds more than most operators ever get to see: which guests are worth the most, where the next pound of revenue is hiding, what your best customers have in common. This read walks through the questions that surface all of it, and shows just how deep you can dig: Your top guests are already telling you where the revenue is. Are you asking?
Next, proving a campaign actually worked. Opens and clicks have always been easy to celebrate, but they were never really the point. What matters is whether people came back through your doors. That has always been the goal, and one that has been near impossible to prove without leaning on voucher redemptions. Now you can, with PoP technology tying your marketing directly to the visits it drives. This piece shows how: Opens and clicks were never the point. Visits were.
And finally, unlocking the data you already hold. You cannot be in every venue at once, but your guest data can tell you what is happening across all of them. This blog looks at how Ask Airship helps you see the full picture and act on it How Ask Airship unlocks your guests' data when you can't be in every room at once
Our new Professionals
We are also delighted to welcome two new members to our Professionals community, the network of industry experts on hand, to help operators get more from their marketing.
First, Heather Moore of Copy That! Midlands. A copywriter specialising in email and web copy, Heather has written for the likes of Zizzi and Greene King and knows exactly how to make words work harder for hospitality brands.
And joining her, Propeller, a full-service digital agency with 25 years in the field. Propeller builds the websites, campaigns and digital experiences that turn attention into bookings.
A warm welcome to them both. We are excited to have you onboard.
The job was never writing code
We also shared a sharp piece of thinking this month from Julian Cole, our Lead Architect of fifteen years. With AI now doing more of the typing, Jules makes the case that the job was never really about that part. It is about judgement: thinking clearly about the operator's problem, owning what you ship, and getting the foundations of clean data, security and reliability right so they keep paying back for years to come. As more of the work gets automated, that ownership matters more than ever. It is a thoughtful read on where hospitality technology is heading, and a fitting one. Give it a read: The job was never writing code.
That is August wrapped. From a brand new partnership to a platform full of improvements, it has been busy. Thanks for flying with us, and we will see you next month.
